Copenhagen Open 2025 - Skateboarding Takes Over the City
For five days, Copenhagen ceased to be just the capital of Denmark and became the center of the skateboarding universe.
From May 28 to June 1, the city hosted another edition of the legendary Copenhagen Open - and, as always, the result was an urban spectacle of creativity, chaos and freedom on four wheels.

The photos you'll see here are by “Paulo Macedo“, who followed everything closely and captured the essence of the event like few others.

Each of his images reflects not just the moment, but the vibe - the intensity, the camaraderie, the sweat, the improvisation and the art of transforming concrete into freedom.

Below are some more memorable photos from the day:
Skateboarding is Still Alive (and Wild)
What the CPH Open makes clear year after year is that skateboarding will never be tamed.
And as long as cities like

Copenhagen continue to embrace this culture with the respect and freedom it deserves, skateboarding will continue to reinvent the world in its own way.

If you've never been, go. If you've been, come back. Because experiencing the Copenhagen Open is more than attending an event: it's being part of something real.
More than Skateboarding: A Street Culture Festival
In addition to the sessions, the city breathed skateboarding everywhere. Brands such as Nike SB, Monster, Polar and Spitfire helped build the festival atmosphere, with parties, activations and collabs going on all the time.
Cameramen running after the skaters, kids learning to dope alongside the pros, photographers vying for the best angle...
The Copenhagen Open is where everyone mixes, and that's what makes it so special.
The Organized Chaos We Love
Forget grandstands, races against time or judges at tables. Here, the street rules.
The CPH Open is one of the few events in the world where skateboarding returns to where it has always belonged: in the middle of the city, alongside the public, with no separations.
Fælledparken, Triangle Skatepark and the iconic Den Røde Plads were taken over by skaters from all over the world in spontaneous, explosive and stylish sessions. Every obstacle became an opportunity. Every corner of the city, a chance to make history.
Final no Centro da Cidade: Caos Total
The grand final at Rådhuspladsen, right in the heart of Copenhagen, was a chapter in itself.
A makeshift track, loud music, beer in hand and breathtaking maneuvers at a cash-for-tricks pace.

The crowd stuck together, the city stopped and skateboarding took over.

It was impossible not to be infected by the energy - those who were there know: it felt more like a protest for the right to live free skateboarding than a traditional championship.
And for those who are curious or want to reminisce, here are some extra photos: scenes that speak for themselves and capture what this insane gathering of skaters from all over the world was like.
Here's a little more about the atmosphere, the people present... and what only the CPH Open can provide
